Do You Offer Small Group Tutoring?

If a group of students would like to meet together, our tutors are available for this. I recommend one on one tutoring for any student who is getting below a C in a math course. In a one on one situation, all the focus is on the student as an individual as opposed to splitting the time among other students who may have different questions. In the one on one environment, a tutor has the opportunity to identify the areas of weakness for the student whether it be test taking strategies, homework issues, or certain concepts that are not clicking. In addition, when the student is not understanding something, the tutor has enough time to focus on different methods of teaching to find the one that works for the student as an individual. Feel free to give me a call if you would like to discuss your tutoring options! Melissa Haueter    Expanding Abilities Tutoring Director    310-720-1883

Quote Of The Day

In today’s world parents find themselves at the mercy of a society which imposes pressures and priorities that allow neither time nor place for meaningful activities and relations between children and adults, which downgrade the role of parents and the functions of parenthood, and which prevent the parent from doing things he wants to do as a guide, friend, and companion to his children.”

Does Your Child Need Help With His Homework?

Are you struggling nightly with your child as he is trying to complete his homework?  Do you need help motivating him to get the job done?  A private tutor can help.  Many times a person outside of the family can be just what a child needs in order to get down to business.  Many tutors have years of experience working with students to motivate and inspire them to approach homework with a positive attitude.  Children build relationships with their tutors that can influence the way that they see subjects that they once despised.  I have worked as a private mathematics tutor for over 7 years and have seen the light go on in many students eyes. On several occasions, I tutored students with math phobias.  After working together, many will say that math is their favorite subject.  Expanding Abilities Tutoring offers one on one tutoring in the comfort of your own home.  Our tutors are experienced in working with families throughout the South Bay of Los Angeles.  Please call for more information on how to stop the nightly homework struggle.  I will be happy to offer my advice and/or recommend a tutor!-Melissa Haueter

NOW is the time to start tutoring

Is your child struggling in school?  Now is the time to start weekly tutoring sessions with a professional tutor.  Waiting until the end of the semester to try to raise grades is much more difficult than working at it a little at a time.  With a few months left until the end of the school year, regularly scheduled tutoring sessions will ease the pressure of school work and help to build the confidence that your student needs both this year and throughout his or her scholastic career.
