Summer Tutoring For High School Students
The summer is the perfect time for your high school student to prepare for a successful school year come fall. It is a great time to work on study skills, writing, or math. For success in fall, I recommend finding out the text books that your student will be working with especially for math and science courses and any advanced placement or honors courses. The student can preview the material over the summer. In the fall, your high school student will feel confident in the classroom as they have already seen some of the material that they will be working with. Our tutors can help your student to set up a study schedule for the summer as they preview the material. At the regular meetings with their tutor, your student can ask questions about the different concepts they have been previewing and learn a few things before they enter the classroom in the fall. For mathematics courses, the tutor will be able to fill in any holes in the students basic math skills and teach some of the concepts for the following semester to ensure success in the fall. If your student struggles with writing or just wants to become a better writer, one of our tutors can meet with him or her throughout the summer to work on writing papers and essays.
